History of Swansea

Well we all know how dramatic Swansea city’s history has been, The ups and the downs. All Swansea had back in 1912 were rugby teams until Swansea A.F.C Came along. They tried to name the team Swansea villa F.C but after several trys it was unsuccessful. Following the First World War the Southern League dropped its second division, and with many clubs dropping out due to financial difficulties, the Swans were placed in the first division. After just four seasons in the Southern League, Swansea Town became founder members of the new Third Division of The Football League in 1920 and then Division Three (South) the following season.
