History of the United Kingdom

Tolkien, Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling are all known across the world for their contributions to literature from the United Kingdom. As well as literature the United Kingdom has been the birthplace of some of the world’s greatest music with bands such as The Beatles, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Prodigy and Radiohead all from the UK. Many classical composers have also come the UK such as Sir Edward Elgar and Gustav Holst. Sport is a major part of the United Kingdom with many leagues and competitions in nearly all sports.
