About/History of West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion were first founded by the workers at George Salters spring works back in 1878. They become west Bromwich Albion in 1880, Being the first clubtto use the Albion Suffix. Albion was the district in which the workers lived and worked. They joined the Birmingham & District Football Association in 1881 and became eligible for their first competition, the Birmingham Cup. The team reached the semi-finals, Beating some more well established clubs. In 1886 they reached the F.A Final for the first time, But sadly lost 2-0 to Aston villa.
